Born and raised in Utah, Jacob went to school and graduated with his bachelor’s in Nursing. While working as a nurse, Jacob hiked his first mountain at age 26 and took a camera with him for the first time to show his family what he saw after he returned. The experience changed him to his core and the photos were an invaluable reminder of that experience. He was addicted to both the outdoors and photography, which led him to summit hundreds of mountains, learn many mountaineering skills, and fill hard drives full of photos that are also his memories. In 2016, he joined Instagram and started to share his photos, which led to rapid growth in the number of people following his adventures, which led to work opportunities. A year later, he quit his job as a nurse to pursue photography full-time. Since then, he has continued to work as a photographer but also led to work as a social media influencer, videographer, writer, public speaker, model, actor, and adventure leader.

While Jacob still climbs mountains, he also developed the skills and love for backpacking, packrafting, backcountry skiing, rock climbing, overlanding, vanlife, fly fishing, spearfishing, freediving, cooking, and traveling. He often does this with his family, wife Natasha, and six-year-old daughter Zoey.
